Island County Coastal Flooding Study

Island County, Washington

F.E. Jordan Associates, Inc. conducted flood insurance studies for unincorporated coastal areas of Island County, the City of Oak Harbor and the towns of Coupeville and Langley, Washington. The result of each study was the development of hydrologic and hydraulic data identifying flood hazard areas, caused by high tides and winds. This project was performed for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

 

City of Mill Valley Flood Insurance Studies

Mill Valley, California

A comprehensive environmental flood plan study was prepared for the San Francisco District Corps of Engineers, and the Federal Insurance Administration. This complex undertaking involved hydrologic and hydraulic investigations, as well as extensive computer applications. Effects of tidal action, sheet flow areas and retention basins within the city limits were investigated.

Mayer State Park

Mayer Waterfront Park

Columbia River, Oregon

Mayer Park was endangered by the planned rise of the reservoir at Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River at peaking level. Re- tained by the Corps of Engineers, Portland District, J/A designed all necessary features to permit full park usage at the higher river elevations. These modifications included the design of a new boat launching ramp, parking area, service road, swimming beach area and other features.

 

Pinecrest Lake & Herring Creek Recreation Plan

Stanislaus Nat'l Forest, California

A composite recreation plan was developed for Pinecrest Lake and Herring Creek Reservoir within a planning area of 27,000 acres in Stanislaus National Forest, California. Within the planning area two major lakes and a reservoir are planned to accommodate swimming beaches, picnic areas, boat launching ramps, parking areas and related facilities.
