Elevated Roadways, US-101 Ramps, I-380 to US-101 Connector & Related Projects

F.E. Jordan Associates, Inc., in joint venture with Holmes & Narver, ARCOST CPM Group, provided total construction management services for this $185 million terminal - elevated roadways, bridges and airport roads. The total project cost on the expansion was $2 billion. 

 

Elevated Circulation Roads

A system of two-level roadways running along both sides and in front of the Ground Transportation Center and in front of the International Terminal, connecting to inbound and outbound ramps from I-380 and US-101. The project was estimated at $99.1 million.

 

Inbound & Outbound Ramps & Structures

This project involves:

(1) the northbound exit from US-101, elevated above McDonnell Road, and splitting into two levels to connect to elevated circulation roads at second and third levels of the Ground Transportation Center;

(2) the southbound exit from US-101, elevated above freeway and existing entrance roads, splitting two levels to connect to elevated circulation ramps at second and third levels of the Ground Transportation Center; and

(3) elevated exit ramps from elevated circulation roads at second and third levels of the Ground Transportation Center, joining to common elevated roadway, then splitting to a southbound entrance to US-101 and a northbound entrance to I-389 viaduct. The project is estimated at $67 million.SF Int'l Airport Boarding Area G

 

Relocation of McDonnell Road

The demolition of a portion of Parking Lot D and McDonnell Road between Road 21 and the Lot D Entrance Plaza. The project is estimated at $3.7 million.

 

Northbound Connector, I-380 Viaduct to US-101

This project involves the relocation of the San Bruno Avenue interchange northbound collector road and construction of the new connector roadway from the bottom of the I-380 viaduct. The project is estimated at $12 million.

 

Boarding Area G & Related Projects

F.E. Jordan Associates, Inc., in joint venture with Lehrer McGovern Bovis, Inc. and Cabellon Associates, Inc., will design a 356,800 sq. ft., three-story boarding area with ramp operations on the first floor, arrivals and sterile corridor on the second floor and departures on the third floor. The New Tunnel G Project also requires design and construction planning of an 8,400 sq. ft. pedestrian tunnel from the existing central garage to Boarding Area G.

 

The 586,000 sq. ft. aircraft apron project includes a new concrete hardstand and asphalt taxiway for aircraft access and parking at Boarding Area G. The airport also has a requirement for a new East Three Lane Underpass connecting the ramp operations of Boarding Areas A and G. The tunnel specifications include a 12' 6" clearance and a length of 2,270 ft. The estimated construction cost is $115 million.

 

Gillespie Field 

San Diego, California

F.E. Jordan Associates, Inc. provided construction management of airfield pavement, roads and sewers for the County of San Diego, California. Construction management was provided on-site for the duration of construction.

 

Scott Air Force Base

Belleville, Illinois

Under the corporate name of Ernest Brown & Associates, F.E. Jordan Associates personnel particpated in construction management, construction staking and surveying for a 2,800-ft. runway at Scott Air Force Base. The firm was responsible for material quality control, and served as the project construction civil engineer. The construction cost was $3.3 million.
