Westport Small Boat Basin

Westport, Washington

JA was selected by the Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, to prepare plans, details, cross sections, technics, specifications, and quantity and cost estimates for the improvements at Westhaven Cove, Westport Marina. The project consisted of the design of two breakwaters with a total length of 1,100 feet, of which 300 feet were of rock core. The breakwaters were laid out in such a way as to create a 100-ft. wide entrance channel between the breakwaters, leading to a large boat turning basin. A 600-ft. long rockfaced dike was also a part of this project.

 

Switzer Channel Bulkhead Replacement

San Diego, California

Jordan Associates was requested by the City of San Diego to design a section of major storm drainage channel handling peak flows of up to 800,000 GPM. The scope of work for this project included engineering investigations, design, preparation of specifications, and construction inspection.

 

Stanwood Levee

Stanwood, Washington

JA was selected by the Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, to design and prepare plans and estimates of a two and one-half mile levee to protect the City of Stanwood from Stillaguamish River flooding. This project also included construction of a tide gate, a double culvert and retaining walls.

 

Pier 91 Seawall Repairs

Port of Seattle, Washington

The Port of Seattle retained JA to conduct a detailed inspection of pier 91's longitudinal seawalls, the major transverse supports for the pier. Corrective designs were prepared for failing unstable sections of the 2500 feet long and 350 feet wide pier which extends into the Puget Sound.
