U.S. Coast Guard Station & Piers

Garibaldi, Oregon

Jordan Associates was selected by the U.S. Coast Guard, Thirteenth District, to provide structural design of the new U.S. Coast Guard Station located at Garibaldi, Tillamook County, Oregon. The facilities consist of a two-story station building on a 145 ft. by 195 ft. concrete pier with steel pipe piling, boat haulout pier, covered mooring, walkway, pier and mooring floats, and a 500-ft. long pile and timber wave barrier.

 

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard

Bremerton, Washington

Commissioned by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, F.E. Jordan Associates, Inc. provided comprehensive surveying and design services for pavement and subsurface repairs on streets, piers and dry docks. Under rigid security measures, JA completed the exhaustive design schedule well within the requirements of this installation.

 

Piers 1½, 3 & 5

Port of San Francisco, California

F.E. Jordan Associates, Inc. was retained by developers to inspect and evaluate deteriorated piers and to provide restoration design and seismic analysis. A new pier will berth the Red and White Ferry Boat fleet and the other piers will support office buildings, plazas and a museum. Pile consolidation, differential set- tlement and office dead weight distributions have added to this challenging assignment.

 

Naval Station Pier 3 & 5

San Diego, California

F.E. Jordan Associates, Inc. was retained by the U.S. Navy to provide a written engineering report and design for pier resurfacing, crane loading, seismic capacity, utility infrastructure and drainage.

Jordan Associates, Inc. participated in the master planning, in association with another consultant, of the Richmond Inner Harbor Basin which consists of 540 acres of land and 110 acres of water. Also, JA accomplished all the structural engineering for 504 recreational boat berths, bulkheads, boardwalks, boat launch ramp, and ancillary facility such as boat sales, boat repair and fuel dock.

 

Lake Sonoma Boat Launch/Marina

Warm Springs Dam, California

The firm was retained by the Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, to perform planning, mapping and design services for two recreation areas of 330 acres. Elements include a 230 boat marina, 1 100-ft. boat launch ramp, a pier, three beach areas, 5,000 feet of trails, numerous picnic and camping sites, several roads, a wastewater treatment plant and related facilities.

 

Cooley Landing Marina

East Palo Alto, California

F.E. Jordan Associates, Inc. was retained by the City of East Palo Alto to determine the economic feasibility and perform preliminary engineering for a marina at Cooley Landing. The study was a detailed cost/revenue analysis, including recommendations for public and private financing. The firm then determined the technical feasibility for a marina through studies of water currents and mathematical analyses of sedimentation rates within the harbor basin. Finally, a master plan was developed for a marina at Cooley Landing providing for 300 berths, 50 boat dry dock storage, boat repair, parking and restaurants
